SEOUL (Reuters) -North Korea fired a ballistic missile towards the sea off the east coastline of the Korean Peninsula on Sunday, information agency Yonhap noted, citing South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Personnel (JCS).
The JSC did not supply details on the launch promptly.
The Japan Coastline Guard also stated what was fired by North Korea could be a ballistic missile.
The North on Thursday fired a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile into the sea involving the Korean peninsula and Japan, several hours before South Korea’s president flew to Tokyo for a summit that reviewed methods to counter the nuclear-armed North.
South Korean and American forces are conducting 11-day joint army drills, dubbed “Liberty Protect 23.”
