Bethany Cupples, from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, bought the dog after she came across a pet advertisement on Gumtree. When she went to collect the puppy in May 2020, at only five-weeks-old, she realised something wasn’t quite right but “instantly fell in love” with the pet.
But as it grew up, it became clear that it was not an average French bulldog.
The dog, named Luna, has much longer hair than a normal French bulldog and she also has a tiled snout.
Bethany, who bought the dog as a present for her mum, admitted she was “very surprised” when she first saw the advert as she thought she had found herself a bargain.
French bulldog puppies can cost as much as £3,500 in the UK.
A trip to the vet revealed that the dog is actually a “Frorkie” – a cross-breed of a French bulldog and a Yorkshire Terrier.
In the video posted to Tik Tok, which quickly went viral, Bethany showed images of what Luna looked like as a puppy compared to now.
Bethany wrote: “We bought a puppy for £600, a ‘pure bred Frenchie’ from Gumtree and this is what she turned into…”
The video of Luna has gained more than 3.3 million views.

“We love her to bits.”
Bethany also said she doesn’t think the seller is a bad breeder, despite the confusion.
“The seller did just make a honest mistake, I wouldn’t doubt the seller to be a bad seller or breeder”, she told Lad Bible.
“The condition the puppies were left in was immaculate, they weren’t harmed or in harm’s way.
“They were well-nourished and fed, but despite the age she left home, we have no concerns about the seller whatsoever.”
Despite her mixed-breeding, Luna remains fit and healthy and is thriving with Bethany and her family.
